Photographing Heart Surgery

I have always liked making pictures and have been a photojournalist most of my life. My work has appeared in The New York Times along with other newspapers and magazines. Though I specialize in medical photography, I enjoy photographing in other fields as well.

I think there are ways to make realistic photos of people, but only if you do not pose them or set things up. When I photograph there are times that all of the preparing, watching and waiting come together in a moment.
It’s an incredible feeling.
